A short journey through my career:
Instead of the traditional B-school route, I came to investment banking by way of 25 years of finance and operational experience as an investor, advisor and leader in the lower middle market and private equity. My experience investing in, buying and selling companies in CPG, Sports/media/entertainment, environmental as well as traditional operating businesses gives me a unique, 360 degree perspective for my clients.
Where I’m at now:
I’m happily engaged in the art of deal-making. Laser-focused on our clients, I’m utilizing my background, proprietary relationships and skill set to help them realize their financial and life goals.
What gets me revved up:
My wife (Nicole), our two kids, (Jack and Grace) and our Maltipoo (Lucy). I’m obsessed with cooking. Good food and wine. International travel. Art museums. Reading everything from philosophy to biography. And live music at our favorite venue on the planet, The Santa Barbara Bowl.
Favorite road trip:
Driving up the PCH along the ocean to visit the Santa Ynez wine region.
Preferred traveling music:
A wide range, depending on mood and setting. U2. Bach. The Head and The Heart. French Café Music.
What makes me an Anomalist:
I came to the investment banking world through the back door by investing my own capital and doing my own M&A. So, I know what it feels like to be the owner and be in a transaction. I also have just as much right brain as left, and fully embrace the creative side of my personality. This is an atypical attribute in our industry which can be extremely impactful and useful in achieving optimal outcomes for all parties
